While walking on the Hamburg Turnpike (Main Street) in Bloomingdale, NJ, I came across this old stand where a payphone used to be placed. It occurred to me that what I was looking at was a little piece of history. The day isn’t long when people are going to see these things, wonder what they are and really not really know off the top of their heads. This site is already in a fairly advanced state of disrepair, already, and it really hasn’t been that long since the rise of cellphones and the coincident decline in the use of payphones.
