Picture taken Sunday, February 17th, 2013. On this day my wife and I walked from Paradise Island to the downtown area where the cruise ships come in. On the way down, near the Ministry of Agriculture, I saw the man on the left in the yellow and black jacket which, as it happens to be, is a Pittsburg Steelers jacket! I asked him about the Ministry of Agriculture since it didn't seem New Providence would have much in the way of farms and he noted that they inspect the imported food produce.
That day was chilly for the Bahamas, but not cold in any real sense of the term. It was about 68 degrees. These two were bundled up like it was winter.
What they're doing is fairly clever. They're walking down to Potter's Cay and grabbing surplus conch shells and then bringing them over to this spot where the tourists can buy them to try to scratch out a living.
Picture marks the spot near Woodes Rodgers Walk where they were sitting.
