A Durham boat was a type of boat, obviously originating in Durham, PA itself. In these photos we see a replice of a Durham Boat, a boat used in conjunction with the local furnace. Durham Furnace made cannon and shot and during the American Revolution such ammunition wended its way to Philadelphia. Durham boats were used by Washington in his famous crossing of the Delaware River. Picture taken March 28th, 2013
